A proportioned figure is a recognized ideal of beauty. Despite diet and exercise, however, persistent fatty tissue accumulations are regularly found in men and women alike. In women, these are typically located on the thighs (e.g. breeches), bottom, hips, inner knees and stomach.
In men they are mainly found on the stomach, hips and loins, face and neck. This unfair distribution of fatty tissue can also cause difficulties in the choice of clothing. It is not uncommon to find differences in clothing size between the upper and lower half of the body.
Today, liposuction is a standard procedure in aesthetic surgery of the body surface and body contouring. In the hands of an experienced surgeon, liposuction is a low-risk operation. Liposuction was first used by aesthetic dermatologists and surgeons in the 1970s and 1980s and has been continuously developed ever since.
Today, the spectrum of liposuction ranges from the removal of individual fat deposits to body contouring, i.e. the shaping and forming of various body areas, and high-definition liposuction, in which not only are fat deposits removed, but also a muscular definition with plastic representation of muscle groups can be designed, especially on the abdomen, chest and upper arms.
Nowadays, many different methods and techniques are also performed side by side or in combination with each other:
Sometimes the different methods are combined, sometimes the industry brings already known methods repackaged back to the market. In recent years, however, the VASER® technique has established itself as a very modern method, which, in addition to very good fat removal, also has a very good tightening effect on skin and connective tissue. The laser and radiofrequency procedures, which can be applied in the tissue directly after fat removal in the sense of “internal heating” for skin tightening, have also significantly increased the possibilities of the operating surgeons. Renuvion® and the Leonardo®Dual – Laser should be mentioned here in particular.
The different techniques differ in the way the fat can be liquefied in the body in order to be able to suck it out. This is because fat is originally a solid mass in body tissue that can at best be cut out but not suctioned off.
Therefore, water is needed as a carrier and depending on the method, the fat cells are liquefied either with ultrasound, vibrations, hydrostatic pressure or electrical energy, which can then be suctioned off. The appropriate procedures are then also available for the necessary skin tightening.
The different methods all want to do the same thing, namely remove excess fat from the body and tighten the skin and connective tissue.
The question as to which method is the best cannot be answered conclusively. Each method has its specific advantages and disadvantages.
It is important that the surgeon is familiar with his method, has mastered it and can draw on years of experience from hundreds or even thousands of operations.
In addition to the surgical technique, which can of course be perfectly mastered, the art of suction consists in applying an individually adapted suction procedure for each patient. Because a perfect result can only be achieved if I adapt my surgical technique to the very individual tissue condition of each patient. If I have various technical procedures at my disposal, nothing stands in the way of an optimal result.
Every person has their own history, including connective tissue, fatty tissue and skin. Only with an enormous amount of experience can a tailor-made suction be performed.
The ideal patient for a liposuction is of normal weight and has circumscribed fat deposits which are resistant to therapy despite a healthy diet and physical activity. A taut skin and a relatively constant body weight over the years are advantageous.
Overweight patients or patients with strong weight fluctuations can of course also be treated, but in this case the aesthetic result has to be compromised due to the poorer connective tissue situation and the usually slack skin conditions. If the excess skin is too large, only additional tightening therapies will lead to the desired result.
In the field of aesthetic surgery, we are specialized in body-shaping therapy procedures. With liposuction, autologous fat transfer and skin tightening therapies, we shape and design your body according to your wishes, as far as anatomically and medically possible. Not everything is possible, but many things are feasible on the way to a better shaped body. A good aesthetic eye, more than 20 years of surgical and aesthetic experience and the most modern equipment are our basis on the way there. In the following you will find an overview of our therapy procedures in the field of modern operative body shaping. There is certainly something for everyone.
